Overview
Malamar [Rapid Strike] has an interesting attack, Rapid Strike Tentacle. This attack deals 40 times number of Rapid Strike cards in your hand and you have to shuffle those Rapid Strike cards after using this attack. So, the more Rapid Strike cards you have in your hand, the higher the damage output from Rapid Strike Tentacles.
To OHKO your opponent's VMAX Pokemon with Rapid Strike Tentacles, it is rather difficult since you need at least 8 Rapid Strike cards in your hand to OHKO some of the VMAX Pokemon. But, you can easily 2HKO any of your opponent's Pokemon with Rapid Strike Tentacles if you have appropriate cards in play.
The best things about Rapid Strike Tentacles is that you only need 1 Psychic Energy to use this attack. So, it is very easy to set up Energy for this attack. Even if your attack Malamar [Rapid Strike] is knocked out, you still can easily attack with your next Malarmar [Rapid Strike] during your next turn because of its Energy requirement.
Draw
You need to have a way to draw Rapid Strike cards after every turn, you use Malamar [Rapid Strike] attack. The best way is to add suitable amount of Rapid Strike cards and cards with strong draw effect in your deck.
Octillery [Rapid Strike] is must have card for your Malamar [Rapid Strike] deck since its Ability, Rapid Strike Search allows you to find 1 Rapid Strike card from your deck. You can take advantage of Rapid Strike Search by finding Korrina's Focus [Rapid Strike] from your deck. Then, use Korrina's Focus [Rapid Strike] to draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand because you will be left with very few cards after using Malamar [Rapid Strike] attack.
To incrase your chance of getting Rapid Strike cards in your hand, you can use both Cinccino Ability, Make Do and Oriario GX Ability, Dance of Tribute. Cinccino allows you to draws 2 card every turn by discarding 1 card from your hand while Oricorio GX allows you to draw 3 cards if your Pokemon was knocked out during your last turn.
You can also use Pal Pad to add Rapid Strike Supporters form your discard into your deck so that your chance of getting Rapid Strike cards will be increased.
Useful Rapid Strike Trainers
Since you need to Rapid Strike cards in your deck, it is more reasonable to put Rapid Strike cards that are compatible with your deck.
Brawly [Rapid Strike] allows you set up 3 Rapid Strike Pokemon on your bench. You can use this to setup both Inkay [Rapid Strike] and Malmar [Rapid Strike] from your deck.
Tower of Waters [Rapid Strike] will your Octillery [Rapid Strike] to retreat with zero cost if your opponent switch it from your bench in order to stall.
Since you can shuffle Rapid Strike cards into your hands by using Rapid Strike Tentacles attack, it is not difficult to left with 1 or 0card in your hand depending on the situation. Then, you can use Rapid Strike Style Mustard [Rapid Strike] to put Malamar [Rapid Strike] from your discard pile onto your Bench and draw 5 cards.
